I am not a stranger to Wolfbox products, so was very curious to try out this dashcam too.
The package contains everything you need to get it up and running:
* The main dashcam plus mounting hardware
* Rear dashcam and associated wiring
* A 12V adapter with a built in cable to power the main camera
* An additional USB-C to USB-C cable for powering the main camera (if you want to use your opwn power source or your own 12V adapter)
* A trim lifting tool
* 64GB SD card
* Adhesive clips for cable management
Mounting this dashcam is about as difficult/easy as any other dashcam, with the majority of the work being cable routing if you want the camera to be discrete.
Both the cameras in the kit are quite compact and use the fabled Sony STARVIS 2 sensor (just different sensor sizes, with the front being larger). The main camera also is jam packed with loads of nice to have features, like GPS (which means it can report your speed), wifi connectivity (for fast file transfer via the Wolfbox app), voice control and even has a touchscreen.
I've been using the dashcam setup for a few days now and in general I am quite happy with the quality and performance of the device, however it isn't without it's flaws.
Firstly I must admit I was a little disappointed with the low light performance of the camera.
Despite having HDR and the Starvis 2 sensor, reading things like number plates or signs is a bit challenging and sadly I have seen better performance on other STARVIS 2 based dashcams.
Secondly, I was a little disappointed to see that the camera does not include a polarising filter. With my main windshield being quite horizontal I get quite a lot of glare, which could be resolved by a filter.
What's even worse is the fact that WolfBox don't even make one for this specific camera, only for the more expensive mirror camera's, so you are out of luck unless you find some sort of aftermarket solution.
Lastly, I was saddened to see that the kit does not include a hardwire kit, especially when the camera has features like collision detection and timelapse monitoring, neither of which will work on a regular 12V socket (though wolfbox do sell one separately).
With the negatives out of the way though, I still think this is a good product.
While it is not best in class and still carries quite a hefty price tag, the camera is competent and will more than do the job of keeping both you and your car safe.
I recently installed the WOLFBOX X5 Duo Dash Cam, and so far my first impressions have been very positive. Installation was fairly straightforward, and the package includes most of the hardware you need to get started, including a 64GB memory card. That’s a nice touch since many dash cams require you to buy a card separately before you can even begin using it. The camera itself feels well-built, and the touchscreen display is a good size, making it easy to view recordings and navigate the menu. The interface is simple and responsive, and the voice control feature is a nice addition, allowing you to record or take a picture without taking your hands off the wheel. I was particularly excited about this feature since I haven’t seen it on my other dash cams before, so I’m looking forward to using it more. Video quality looks sharp during daytime recordings, and the anti-shake stabilization helps keep footage steady even on rougher roads. Nighttime video quality can be more variable depending on lighting conditions, which is something many dash cams struggle with, so it’s worth testing to see if it meets your needs. I’ve had some footage where license plates were clearly readable, and other situations where they were harder to make out, depending on lighting conditions. The dual-camera setup also provides additional peace of mind since it records both the front and rear of the vehicle. Another feature I appreciate is the built-in GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity, which makes it easier to transfer clips to a phone and keep track of location and speed data when reviewing footage. Having recorded video along with speed and location data can also be very useful in the event of an accident or insurance dispute. One thing to note is that the parking mode requires a separate hardwire kit, which is not included in the box. While this is fairly common with many dash cams, it’s something to keep in mind if you want continuous monitoring while your car is parked. I haven’t had a chance to fully test the camera over a longer period yet, but based on the initial setup and early use, it seems like a solid dual-channel dash cam with a good set of modern features.
I ordered this dual dash cam for safety reasons and I’m quite happy with it so far. I admittedly am not the most tech savvy person, so I did have to enlist my brother for the initial installation. It did require a bit of time, but he felt the directions were straightforward. The cable length was no issue and reached where it needed to be without issue, and the cameras work just as they’re supposed to (thus far anyway)! I think the video / picture quality is pretty solid, but since I haven’t tried handfuls of others to compare it to, so I would take that with a grain of salt. I think for both peace of mind and protecting oneself legally that this is a great set to have as it logs nearly everything. I don’t tinker with the system too much since he set it up for me, as I don’t want to undo anything, but it’s held up well in the few months I’ve been using it. I’m happy with it!
I like the way this dashcam also includes a backside camera. This is the first time using one that also includes the backside, and the camera quality for both the front and back are really awesome. 4k and 2.5k is pretty high quality and it's nice to have 64gb included in the box as well. It's been pretty reliable so far and the anti-shake feature is very convenient. The sound recorded is pretty crisp as well without any compromise for the price point at its at. Would definitely recommend this camera and overall brand as well.
The most difficult part of setting this up is the most difficult part of setting up any dash cam. That would be the cable management. There's no getting around that, unless the rear camera is either not there or wireless, which would require a battery, of course.
I like the fact that this has a touch screen. One of the more annoying aspects of the dash cam this replaced was the fact that I had to navigate everything with two buttons. This is no more difficult to use than a smart phone or something similar. It's easy.
The video quality is good, but I will say that it's best during the day or when it's bright at night. In other words, if you are driving down a dark road, don't expect much. However, if you are driving down the interstate at noon, the recording will look quite good. When I say good, I mean good, not great. I've definitely seen dash cams with better video quality than this. The 4k 60fps dash cams that don't cost a whole lot more than this are noticeably better. The best way I can explain the difference between this and those cams is that you'll see this and think, "Yeah, that's fine." You'll see one of those cams and think, "woah." It's a difference. The capture speed definitely makes a difference.
Despite the touch screen, this is still quite small. It's bigger than the dash cams that are totally app based, obviously, but it's not huge. I'll take the functionality of a touch screen over the size of an app based dash cam any day.
The only functionality issue I have had was with the included SD card. It seemed to become corrupt after a few weeks. I replaced it with a good SD card and now it's fine.
Value for money is a bit tricky with this, considering the price is not very stable. If it's over $200, forget it. If it's closer to $150, then it's good.

I was looking for a more up to date dash cam since mine was getting old. I saw this wolfbox x5 duo and so far it's seeming like it delivers. The video quality is sharp 4k and the rear is clean too at 2.5k so I'm not really stuck squinting at fuzzy videos. The anti shake/stabilization is really cool even on bumpy roads the footage stays smooth enough that plates and signs are legible. Night driving is solid too for most real life situations, street lights, tunnels, shady roads... and the HDR helps balance those annoying bright headlights. Setup was straightforward and similar to my other dash cam. The touch screen menus are easy to navigate and the included 64GB sd card is a helpful nice touch. I also like the 5.8ghz wifi it's super clutch for grabbing clips quickly. Added parking mode functionality is a nice to have also. Overall it's easy to use and has enough features to make it high quality for me. Great value and I would recommend it to others.
install was a breeze. the cable is plenty long, routing it cleanly was easy, and it didn’t feel like a fight the whole time. the mount adhesive is also the real deal, which is good for staying put, but bad if you place it wrong. removing and re-placing it is not fun, so take a second to line it up before you commit.
video quality is freakin great. that was the main reason I bought it and it delivered. I also like the app, but heads up, control feels like either/or. you’re using the app or you’re using the onboard controls, not both together in a smooth way.
power options are solid. I tied mine into power so it’s always on, but the included lighter to USB-C works fine too, and having ports on the back is handy.
only thing I really wish it had is an interior camera. for my use, that would make it basically perfect.
Love the USB-C connector. Don't have to rely on the included cigar lighter. Use alternate source to power the device. Also, easy to navigate menu. Have to use separate Wolfbox software to see the GPS map on desktop / laptop.

The touchscreen is intuitive, and a 64GB card is included; however, with 4K + 2.5K recording, the storage is not sufficient and files are easily overwritten, so an additional memory card is needed. Parking mode requires a hardwire kit. Installation is easy—in my experience with dash cams, it took less than 30 minutes to complete a clean, hidden wiring installation. Unfortunately, the price is not low. It would be more perfect if it supported a triple-camera setup. As a rideshare driver, a three-channel dash cam is the ideal choice.
